Kanazawa is famous for one of the best Japanese gardens; Kenrokuen and very interesting historical Ninja temple etc….. It is also a gateway city to go to the world heritage-listed Japanese old village of Shirakawago. With a bullet train now available from Tokyo, the popularity of this city is increasing. As for fitness travelers, there is only one local gym with a day pass in a convenient location. See my recommendation below the map.
There is only 1 local gym selling a day pass to travelers in convenient location in Kanazawa (red icon on the map)
IXgym: Day pass costs JPY3300 per visit. Open Mon-Sun from 10.00am - 9.00pm. Closed on Wed. See the official gym website.
Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel is an old school comfortable hotel. Conveniently located for sightseeing, you can walk to popular tourist spots, Kenrokuen and Ninja temple. It has a small fitness room with cardio machine only. If you want a full-workout, you can walk to a local gym that sells a day pass to travelers, IXgym. It takes only 5 mins walk.
Hyatt Centric Kanazawa is close to Kanazawa station, where all buses leave for tourist sites in all directions. This 4-star hotel has a good gym room and hotel guests can use it for free.
