Gyms for tourists in Kyoto 2026

Kyoto is the most popular tourist destination in Japan, and there are many tourist spots in all directions. Because of increasing popularity of Kyoto, the hotel prices have gone up significantly in recent years and most hotels with gym have got only small space (you feel uncomfortable if there are more than 2 people !!) and its facility is limited. The gym day pass costs around JPY3,000 per visit. So, if you are serious about your workout routine in 2-4 star hotel budget, then it would be better to find a hotel nearby the gym with a day pass in my opinion. There are 4 local gyms selling a day pass to travelers. If you are an Anytime Fitness member in your home country, then you have many choices to go !

Recommendation: If you’re planning to visit multiple places in Kyoto and then travel onward to Tokyo or Osaka, you’ll likely be using Kyoto Station. The area has many hotels, making it a convenient base for sightseeing while keeping your workout routine on track. Check out the hotels near this gym !

Hotel with gym in Kyoto

Except for high‑priced hotels (around $600+ per night), most hotels in Kyoto that advertise a “fitness room” only offer a small space with a few cardio machines. However, Hotel Vischio Kyoto by Granvia (4‑star) has a genuinely decent gym. The hotel is located in front of Kyoto Station, making it extremely convenient if you’re planning to travel onward to Tokyo, Osaka, or other regions. For fitness‑minded travelers looking for a mid‑range option with great access, this hotel is one of the best choices. Check out the review and price !
