Recommendation: Ikebukuro Sports Center is a public gym, and while public facilities in Japan are often inexpensive but lower in quality, this one is an exception — the equipment and overall setup are excellent. It’s a bit removed from the main Ikebukuro entertainment area, but still within walking distance of Ikebukuro Station. The neighborhood also has many reasonably priced hotels, making it a practical choice for travelers who want good facilities without paying premium gym prices. Check out the hotels near this gym!
If you are an Anytime Fitness Member in your home country, you can use 1,200+ Anytime Fitness gyms in Japan 24/7 for free (your home country’s membership covers the cost). You can use the same security key tag to enter. Often Anytime Fitness gyms in Japan are hard to find as they are located in the back street or on the 2nd floor of big buildings. In this area, there are 4 gyms in convenient location as follows (purple icons on the map)
Recommendation: Anytime Fitness Ikebukuro Ekimae is a newer location with excellent facilities. The gym sits on the 2nd floor of the building and is just a short walk from Ikebukuro Station. The surrounding area is packed with shops, restaurants, and many reasonably priced hotels, making it a convenient and comfortable base for travelers who want easy access to both fitness and entertainment.
