Tokyo >> Shinagawa
Shinagawa is a big transportation hub in Tokyo, with many trains going in all directions. For this reason, there are many hotels and restaurants around the station. So it is a good area for business people who move around a lot. For fitness travelers there are 4 local gyms in this area, but both of them are a bit far from the Shinagawa's main area. You need to take a train for 1-2 stops. Shinagawa is a business friendly area but not fitness friendly! If you are an Anytime Fitness member, there are 2 Anytime Fitness (Members only).

Recommendation: Locok Wellness Garden is new (opened in 2023) and close to Shinagawa station (10 min walk) and you can use both gym and pool. Gold’s Gym South Tokyo is a great gym and opens 24/7.
If you are an Anytime Fitness Member in your home country, you can use 1100+ Anytime Fitness gyms in Japan 24/7 for free (your home country’s membership covers the cost). You can use the same security key tag to enter. Often Anytime Fitness gyms in Japan are hard to find as they are located in the back street or on the 2nd or 3rd floor of big buildings. In this area, there are 2 gyms in convenient locations as follows (Purple icons on the map).
Shinagawa Prince Hotel opened a new gym in 2024. As there are not many local gyms around Shinagawa station, this hotel would be a great option in this area if you want to stay nearby Shinagawa station.
If you are ok with cardio machines only, then Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa would be a good option. This 4-star hotel has a great Japanese garden and spacious fitness room. You can do Yoga/stretch in open space (no free weights). Even though it is in the middle of Tokyo, this place is very quiet and comfortable. Downside is that you have to walk on the hill to get to this hotel. There is a shuttle but to get to the station area, but it is a bit painful. If you want to stay relaxed in Tokyo in your final days, this place would be great.
