Gyms for tourists in Ueno 2026

Tokyo >> Ueno

Ueno area in Tokyo is unique and fun with a mixture of many things, great park, zoo, museums, traditional temples, street food, many shops, and restaurants. As there is an express train from Keisei Ueno station to Narita International Airport, it is very convenient for international travelers. Ueno is an economically friendly city with many cheap shops and hotels (no luxury hotels or shops). For fitness travelers, there is only 1 hotel with a gym in Ueno, but that gym room is so small that only 1-2 people can use it at the same time. In this area, there are 4 local gyms that sell day passes to travelers and 2 Anytime Fitness (member only). There are many reasonable hotels around them, and it is easy to find hotel nearby those gyms.

Recommendation: Infinity 24H Fitness Gym is a solid option near Ueno Station. The gym isn’t large, but it has good equipment and is relatively quiet, making it comfortable for travelers who prefer a calmer workout environment. It can be a little tricky to find — it’s on the 4th floor, so look up from the street for the “Infinity” sign. There are many reasonably priced hotels within walking distance, making this area convenient for sightseeing and training.

Anytime Fitness (purple icon)

If you are an Anytime Fitness Member in your home country, you can use 1,200+ Anytime Fitness gyms in Japan 24/7 for free (your home country’s membership covers the cost). You can use the same security key tag to enter. Often Anytime Fitness gyms in Japan are hard to find as they are located in the back street or on the 2nd floor of big buildings. In this area, there are 2 gyms in convenient locations as follows (Purple icons on the map).

Recommendation: Anytime Fitness Ueno is slightly farther from the main Ueno entertainment district, but it sits along the route toward Asakusa — one of Tokyo’s most popular sightseeing areas. The neighborhood has many reasonably priced hotels, making it a practical option for travelers who want easy access to both Ueno and Asakusa while keeping up with their workouts.
